OFPC General Assembly scheduled on June 21st

The first General Assembly of OFPC Association is scheduled on June 21st, hosted by Pegasus MicroDesign. The Assembly will gather members from every participating institution in order to plan OFPC activities for the rest of this year. It is anticipated that, among other decisions, the OFPC Technical Steering Committee will be nominated, including some of the researchers already collaborating in the hArtes project.

OFPC V.alpha 4 available!

The OFPC Editors have released a new version of the preliminary draft of OFPC, labeled "alpha 4", which is available for download from the OFPC website.

The OFPC Editors will be happy to receive feedback from the community of developers. Any suggestion from the OFPC community will be useful to improve the specifications toward a more stable beta release of the OFPC draft, expected for Q2 2010.

OFPC applied to OMAP

The OFPC approach successfully applies to the OMAP applications. The OFPC team already started the back-end implementation to adapt the hArtes toolchain, developed in the EU Integrated hArtes project, to the Texas Instruments OMAP architecture.

The OMAP developers will largely benefit from this implementation that will extend the potential of the OMAP Development Kit, providing a seamless integrated workflow which aims to automate design partitioning, task transformation, choice of data representation, and metric evaluation for both hardware and software components, a system synthesis tool producing near-optimal implementations that best exploits the capability of each type of processing element.
